‘Govt firm on equitable development,
judicious funds utilization’
JAMMU, JANUARY 06 – Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah Wednesday
said that government is firm on equitable development of all
areas and judicious utilization of resources to ameliorate the
lot of common man. “We are determined for welfare of all
sections of the society in a just system of governance with
public service its benchmark”, he said and added that people’s
participation in development process is being encouraged to make
schemes more people centric and effective.
Mr. Omar said reaching out to rural and far off areas for all
round progress has been flagged as important concern of the
government and prompt response to public demands underlined as
focused area. He said that he is in constant rapport with the
common people personally and is also getting important feed
backs from their representatives and through CM’s Grievances
Cell. “This keeps me apprised of the pace of progress on works
and public needs in various areas”, he added.
Mr. Omar was interacting with various deputations who called on
him here this evening and felicitated for completion of one year
in office with remarkable achievements. They also presented
various demands pertaining to them to Chief Minister for his
consideration and accommodation.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing and assured that genuine
demands would be actively considered and necessary action taken
for the redressal of grievances.
The deputations and public representatives which met Chief
Minister included a deputation of Bhelassa, Bhadarwah led by MLC,
Mr. Naresh Gupta, a deputation of SC/ST led by former MLA Dr.
Chaman Lal, a deputation from Ganderbal led by Mr. Ishfaq, a
deputation of Jammu University Teachers Association, a
deputation of Gujjar and Bakerwal Association from Samba led by
Mohammad Fareed, a deputation of JAKFED Employees Welfare
Association led by Mr. J. D. Dar, a deputation of Provincial
Electric Employees Union led by Mr. P. C. Sharma, a deputation
of 10+2 lecturers’ Association led by Mr. H.D. Quershi, a
deputation of Private Schools Association led by Prof. Puri and
Prof. Kotwal, a deputation of Handicrafts Employees Union led by
Mr. Ghulam Qadir, a deputation led by Rev. Priest Sohan Lal,
former Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma, former
Minister, Haji Nissar Ali, MLA, Mr. Mohammad Sharief Niaz and
Prof. Matto.
The two deputations of Government employees also called on the
Chief Minister and requested for acceding to their demands.
A deputation of Civil Secretariat Non-Gazzetted Employees
Association led by its President, Mr. Nazir Ahmed in its meeting
with Chief Minister extending felicitation to him on the
completion of one year of his Government. The deputation also
presented memorandum of their demands and requested for their
early fulfilment.
Another deputation of Lower Grade Employees Association of the
Civil Secretariat led by Mr. Abdul Majeed also presented their
demands to the Chief Minister.
The Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Khurshid Ahmed
Ganai was also present.
