Scotland Yard police warns London of Mumbai style terrorist
attack in January
December 19, Raj Rajagopalan
Scotland Yard is the Metropolitan Police Force responsible for
law enforcement within Greater London. The Times reported today
that Scotland Yard has just warned London of possible Mumbai
(India) style attack in London early next year. The Times went
onto report that Scotland Yard senior detective has issued a
stern warning with words “Mumbai is coming to London”.
Mumbai, the financial headquarters of India, back in Nov 2008,
was hit with 10 coordinated shooting, bombing and hostage taking
attack by terrorists from Pakistan. As reported by wikepedia, 8
of these attacks happened in South Mumbai, and the targets
included the extremely busy Chartrapati Sivaji Bus Terminal of
Mumbai, most popular hotels and café’s like the Taj Mahal
Palace, the Oberoi Trident, a busy Cinema theater, a popular
hospital, all located in the area of Mumbai considered as “Wall
street of Mumbai”. The attacks and hostage taking lasted for 3
days from Nov 26th 2008 to Nov 29th 2008.
It should be extremely concerning to the President of USA and
Prime Minister of London that Scotland Yard is reporting
increased chatter about a possible Mumbai style terrorist attack
in London early next year.
Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network has witnessed
the fact that President Obama is not as keen as President Bush
on fighting terrorism. They have seen that President Obama
doesn’t even like to use the words “War on Terror”, and has
abolished the use of these words, and instead labeled it as “Man
caused disaster”. Al Qaeda has seen that the current President
of USA is so weak that he is willing go give Miranda rights to
the terrorists, as if they are soldiers of a sovereign nation.
Al Qaeda has also seen how friendly President Obama is to the
hard core terrorists imprisoned in camp Gitmo. As a result, Al
Qaeda is motivated and energized.
The citizens of America can only hope President Obama will act
hard against the terrorists, and continue to fight the “war on
terror”, like President Bush.
